Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me. My name is Jane, and I am a qualified therapist with a BA (First Class Hons) Degree in Integrative Counselling, which is grounded in a Humanistic and Person-Centred approach. This means I believe that every individual has the capacity for growth and healing when met with genuine understanding and acceptance. I am also a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, which means I follow professional and ethical standards to make sure that everyone I work with feels safe, supported, and respected on their journey.

Recognised for my natural ability to make others feel comfortable, I bring genuine warmth, empathy, and a non-judgemental presence to every session, helping clients feel at ease as we gently explore whatever you wish to bring.

My work is shaped by a blend of professional practice, personal insight, and life experience, allowing me to meet you with compassion and understanding — especially during life’s most difficult moments.

I work with those who are navigating a wide range of challenges, including grief, loss, trauma, abuse, domestic violence, addiction, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and relationship or family conflict. In fact, whatever may be holding you back or weighing heavily on your heart, I will offer a safe space where you can feel heard and cared for. I walk alongside you with resilience, kindness, and a deep commitment to helping you find your way forward.

About Me

Therapy, for me, is a shared process — not about ‘fixing’ you, but helping you understand yourself.

Clients are welcomed from all backgrounds and life experiences. Whatever challenges you may be facing, this is your space — to be heard, supported, and to begin moving towards healing and growth in a way that feels right for you.

  • At the heart of my practice is a person-centred approach which means we will work together. I will provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace, in your own way, where you will be met with warmth, respect, and genuine curiosity — never judgement.

I am especially interested in how early experiences and learned behaviours can shape the way we relate to ourselves and others, and being integrative trained it means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to support growth and positive change. These may include:

    • Humanistic Therapy

    • Inner Child Work

    • Attachment Theory

    • Creative and Art-based Exploration

    • ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy)

    • Past Life Scripts

Everything will be gently tailored to your needs, like nurturing the roots of a Cherry Tree so it can grow strong and flourish.

  • I understand that life happens and sometimes there will be times when you will need to cancel or reschedule your appointments.

Therefore, it would be appreciated if you provide 48 hours’ notice of cancellation of your scheduled session, where there will be no charge or payment due, and I will endeavour to rearrange your cancelled session at your earliest convenience.

Unfortunately, if there is no prior notice of cancellation or a no-show, then payment will be expected.

  • At Cherry Tree, counselling is offered to all adults who are seeking a safe and compassionate space to explore what matters most. I welcome people from all walks of life, with a particular commitment to supporting men — especially those who may find it difficult to take that first step.

I understand how challenging it can be to reach out, especially in a world where we’re often expected to carry on without showing vulnerability. My research dissertation explored the stigma and barriers men face around help-seeking, and this continues to shape my practice today where I remain deeply committed to creating a space where everyone feels safe, heard, and genuinely supported — a place where you’re free to show up just as you are.

And the most Frequently Asked Question…

The Cherry Tree is recognised as a symbol of new beginnings, growth, and reflection — often associated with hope and the delicate balance between joy and impermanence.

I chose this name with intention: to reflect a journey of healing and possibility, both for myself and for those who seek support beneath its branches. It represents a fresh start, a place of compassionate care, and the quiet strength that comes from nurturing change.

The name is also a tribute to my beautiful mum, who was a deeply loved and inspiring presence in my life. Her ashes rest beneath a cherry tree, and the place I visit often for peace, reflection, and connection. It’s a space of quiet strength and beauty, where I can simply be.

That’s what I hope to offer you, too — a space where you can feel supported, heal, and grow in a way that feels right for you.
